About

Hi!

I'm Kaity Lavaja (pronounced Luh-vi-uh, it's a tricky one). I use this little blog as a way to document my life. It's one of my many journals, so my stories may include pointless details and too many photos, but I'm thinking my future self will be grateful...

I was born and raised in Sacramento. I'm not one of those people who go around announcing that California is the best...but Northern California really is the best ;). With Tahoe an hour one way and San Francisco an hour the other, how can you go wrong? My husband Rusty is from Chicago. He is a mid-westerner through and through...minus the accent. Although most his friends and family have one, so I'm not sure how he escaped it...

We met at Brigham Young University. We did the friends thing for a while, ended up dating, falling in love, and were married in the summer of 2012. I know it sounds cheesy, but he really is my other half. Once we had both finished school, Rusty decided to continue playing volleyball- professionally, and of course I was on board because that meant traveling the world. There aren't any professional volleyball leagues in the US, so for seven to eight months, we live overseas. We have danced our way through Greece- Opa!, had Santa as a [distant] neighbor in Finland, and now we are taking on France one baguette at a time.

A little more about us...

           Her:
Family- has four sisters and one brother
Lives for finding a good deal
                 Obsessed with Disneyland
                 Loves all things fashion
                 Junk food junkie, especially cookies!

       Him:
                 Family- has one brother
Plays professional volleyball, but claims football is his favorite sport
Often referred to (only by me) as a "little tech wizard" because
of his vast knowledge of technology
Loves shopping as much as I do, which I love
                 Dulce-de-leche fanatic

Thanks for stopping by and we hope you enjoy following along!
